The Temple Beth Hillel Men's Club was established in 1992. Our main function is to serve as a social organization where members can meet and exchange ideas, stimulate fellowship in the Temple and in the community and to serve the Temple in a way that is consistent with the goals, ideals and bylaws of the Temple. The Men's Club meets once a month from September until May on Sunday mornings at the Temple. The Men's Club each year sponsors a Temple barbeque the first day of religious School, a Super Bowl Party, a special Men's Club Service , an annual auction and a Temple Tag Sale. One of the highlights each year is our Men's Club breakfast. Each year we invite a celebrity speaker from the local scene. This year we had Joanne Nesti of WVIT Channel 30 News. In past years we have had Colin McEnroe, Former UCONN Soccer Coach Joe Morrone, Gerry Brooks, Doron Sheffer and former UCONN Men's basketball assistant coach Dave Leitao. While social activities are our main function, a byproduct of these activities is fund-raising. Through the various fund-raising activites, we have raised money to pay for a defibrillator, banquet tables, chairs, a permanent Sukkah, a projection TV, cable TV and internet access and an annual $2000 donation to the Temple's general fund. We also have raised and donated $10,000 for the Cantor's lectern for our new building. The Men's Club is a vibrant and important part of Temple Beth Hillel and is always looking for new members to keep it so.
