This letter is a heartfelt thank you to the Jubilee Steering Committee and all who contributed to the events of the weekend of November 4, 5, and 6, 2011. After the stressful week we all had, the Jubilee Celebration was timed perfectly. It was the distraction we all needed, and nothing was left out!
I felt a sense of enlightenment, pride, giddiness, and spirituality. It all started Friday evening where we shared in a delicious Shabbat dinner, were comforted during the Service led by Rabbi Glickman, and listened to a sermon led by the President of the URJ, Rabbi Eric Yoffee.
We continued to celebrate Saturday evening with a social hour that included the very funny and talented comedian/mentalist, Peter Gross, and a few of our members. Dancing and laughter continued throughout the evening, listening to the sounds of Bopper's, and Dave the DJ who knew how to engage all of us.
On the final day, Sunday, the children of this synagogue as well as the adults, participated in an Intergenerational Time Capsule. We then had another delicious meal sponsored by Rabbi and Mindy. The congregation listened to Rabbi Norm Cohen speak about "Our Struggles as Children and Parents." This was beautifully presented through the life of Isaac.
To end the 50 years we listened to the sound of the Shofar.
All who were present will remember this weekend with fondness. I know I will.
Thank you again.
