My work for Temple this summer was a very eye-opening experience, that I enjoyed and learned a lot from. Since I've been a part of TBH since I was in Kindergarten, I have grown up in front of the Temple, and have understandably been seen as a kid in the eyes of many Temple members. They have known me for so long, how could they not? This summer, though, I got a chance to be seen as an adult, and work as one. I learned a lot about the workings of our Temple, and how it operates on a daily and more long-term basis. There are so many people that contribute to making TBH run the way it does, especially Karen Kasheta, who deserves a medal of some sort for all she does. The volunteer members of groups such as the Jubilee Steering Committee and Men's Club put in a lot of effort, and although they may not always act perfectly, I do believe they have the best interests of the congregation at heart. Overall, I am very happy I chose to spend part of my summer working for the Temple I grew up in. I feel not only closer to the people in it, but also to my religion. I honestly do not fully know where my future will take me in 5, 10, or 15 years, but I do know, from my time as a Rabbinic Intern, that I want my Temple and my Judaism to be a part of it no matter what.
Thank you for this opportunity, Rabbi,
